Born on March 14, 1965, Aamir Hussain Khan was first seen as a child actor in his uncle Nasir Hussain's 1973 film, Yaadon Ki Baaraat. Eleven years later, in 1984, he made his professional debut with Ketan Mehta's Holi. However, Khan's first commercial success came with the 1988 film - Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak - which was a runaway hit, and went on to win a National Award. After Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, there was no stopping Khan as he went on to deliver blockbusters like Dil, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Andaz Apna Apna, Raja Hindustani, Ghulam and many more. His second movie, Raakh, did not work well with the then audience, but received much critical acclaim.In 2001, Khan set up his own production house, and produced his first movie - Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India - in which he acted as well.
