Chaudhary Ajit Singh is an Indian politician and a prominent Jat leader from Western Uttar Pradesh. He was appointed as civil aviation minister of India on 18 December 2011, soon after his party RLD, with five members in the Lok Sabha, formally joined the UPA. He is the founder and chief of the Rashtriya Lok Dal, a political party recognised in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.He is the son of former prime minister of India and Jat leader Choudhary Charan Singh.His son Jayant Chaudhary is a member of 15th Lok Sabha.
