Friendship expectedly ends up into love in Bollywood. As rightly said by the love guru Rahul in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, “pyar dosti hai…” and a filmy teen ka tadka, has flavors of love, comedy, pain and the clichéd simple Jane wins feel. Here are the most happily-savored love- triangles in Bollywood…
'Cocktail'
As the promos suggest, three totally different youngsters Meera an awkward introvert, Veronica smoldering bombshell and a flirt, an endearing charmer Gautam share a house, and are always up to something mazedaar and hatke. With time, their bond grows stronger and the inevitable happens – love! Now, Saif couples up with Deepika or Diana is yet to be seen.
‘Dostana’
The funniest and sexiest of all the lovey-dovey cocktails! Yes, they also shot in Miami and the background was enriched with beach babes and more. This is one love triangle which sings all together a different tune. Two friends fall for the same girl, but hey, no sacrifice happens here. It employs the comedy of errors code, though not in terms of mistaken personalities but preferences. While the so called gay duo keep trying their luck at getting the sensuous babe, Bobby Deol makes a sudden entry and takes home the 'cake'!
‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’
What happens when two handsome hunks fall in love with the same girl? A love triangle, you‘d say, right? A zany comedy, we say! Two romeos Sallu: a Baywatch like lifeguard and Akki: a spoilsport, desperately try to win their lady’s (Priyanka Chopra) love in this whacky entertainer. This situational comedy, with loads of pyaar ka tadka in the background, is too funny for words.
‘Kal ho Na Ho’
This new-age Anand is a love story with a pinch of salt – but we totally love to smile and sob with the three leads-in-love. Saif: the cute flirt, who realizes his love for his geek friend Priety who falls for SRK, a happy-go-lucky guy in her neighborhood. The rest, as they say, is history.
‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’
The chemistry between friends Anjali played by Kajol and Rahul played by Shah Rukh was a cracker. The two made us laugh, cry and got us how to love. After all ‘Pyar Dosti Hai…’ KJo’s directorial debut reminded audience that ‘the story is not complete till the Heroine has a rain dance number with the hero.
‘Dil Toh Pagal Hai’
The awesome threesome – Shah Rukh, Madhuri and Karisma won our hearts. The story involves three characters – Rahul, Pooja and Nisha and their struggle to find true love. However the king of romances Yash Chopra certainly added a new age tang to the script. What was there not to love about the movie – songs, dances and dialogues?
