Amrita Puri is an Indian actress and model who mainly appears on stage and in Bollywood films. Post college, Puri started her career with writing and theatre. Her first play was Quasar Thakore Padamsee's View From The Stage, which was followed by Scherazade Kaiokobad's Retellings. Soon after, Bollywood came calling, and Puri landed the role of Shefali Thakur in Aisha, which was dubbed as "India's first chick flick". It was loosely based on the Jane Austen novel Emma and its Hollywood adaptation Clueless.
