Amrita Puri is an Indian actress and model who mainly appears on stage and in Bollywood films. Post college, Puri started her career with writing and theatre. Her first play was Quasar Thakore Padamsee's View From The Stage, which was followed by Scherazade Kaiokobad's Retellings. Soon after, Bollywood came calling, and Puri landed the role of Shefali Thakur in Aisha, which was dubbed as "India's first chick flick". It was loosely based on the Jane Austen novel Emma and its Hollywood adaptation Clueless. Post Aisha, she went back to theatre, and did quite a few plays, including the critically acclaimed The Interview (alongside Karan Pandit and Kashin Shetty), and Famous Last Words (alongside Sahil Jaffrey and Anish Trivedi).
