Anies Baswedan, Ph.D., (born in Indonesia, May 7, 1969) is currently the President of Paramadina University in Jakarta, Indonesia. He is also the Research Director at The Indonesian Institute Center for Public Policy Analysis in Jakarta. Prior to his current positions, he worked as Research Manager at IPC in Bannockburn, Illinois, USA (2004-2005). Beginning in April 2006, he served as National Advisor on Decentralization and Regional Autonomy at the Partnership for Governance Reform and later became Governance Assessment Coordinator. Baswedan holds a Doctorate in Philosophy from Northern Illinois University, a masters degree in Public Policy from University of Maryland School of Public Policy, College Park, and a degree in Business Management from Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
