Kapoor was born in Mumbai to Indian film producer, Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie Kapoor, He is the grandson of filmmaker Surinder Kapoor, nephew of actor Anil Kapoor and first-cousin of actress Sonam Kapoor. He has produced movies like No Entry (2005) , Wanted (2009) starring Salman Khan and Ayesh Takia. He was also an assistant director on films like Shakti: The Power (2002), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) and Salaam-E-Ishq (2007) Kapoor's debut film will be Ishaqzaade, which will be produced by Yash Raj Films. Kapoor will be co-starring Parineeti Chopra, who is the cousin of Priyanka Chopra. Kapoor's second film, which has earlier been announced, also an Y-Films production, titled Virus Diwan, is set to go on floors in late 2012.
