Swami Ramdev, born Ramkrishna Yadav on January 11, 1965 in Haryana, India, also known as Baba Ramdev, is an Indian spiritual leader known for his ventures in yoga, ayurveda and agriculture. Baba Ramdev is best known for repopularizing yoga among Indians through his mass yoga camps and TV shows. He has, more recently, been involved as a political activist. Ramdev has clarified that he has no political ambitions and is not interested in starting a political party, but feels that it is his duty to reform social and political ambiguities apart from popularising yoga and thus strengthen the country. He has raised a number of political, social and economic issues through his yoga camps (in Hindi Yog Shivir). Most of the issues raised by him demand a drastic change in the governance policies of India.
