Bobby Deol is the son of Dharmendra and first wife, Prakash Kaur. Sunny Deol, Bollywood actor, is his elder brother. Bobby Deol is married to Tanya, daughter of Dev Ahuja, finance guru and owner of 21st Century Finance. He has two children.
Bobby made a very brief appearance in the 1977 film Dharam Veer where he played the younger version of his father's character. He was only 10 years old at that time.In 1995, Bobby made his debut in the film Barsaat. His next release Gupt came nearly two years later in 1997. This murder mystery proved to be a huge hit and pushed Bobby 's stock skywards.
In 1997, his film Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya which marked the debut of Miss World Aishwarya Rai, got an even warmer welcome. Eventually, this over-hyped love story turned out to be a complete washout.
In 1998, Bobby's thrilling hit in the form of Abbas-Mastan's whodunit, Soldier, was released. Once again, Bobby deserved the credit for its success, since he was cast opposite rank newcomer, Preity Zinta, and was aided by a totally non-starry cast.
In 2000, he enjoyed decent success with the films Badal and Bichhoo.However Ajnabee (2001) did reasonably well at the box-office and Humraaz (2002)was a huge hit. In Apne, Bobby appeared with his father Dharmendra and brother Sunny Deol together for the first time.
Apart from Apne all other films that released in 2007 were huge flops such as Naqaab: Disguised Intentions, Shakalaka Boom Boom and Jhoom Barabar Jhoom were huge flops.
In 2008 he had two releases Chamku and Heroes. Chamku was a huge flop but Heroes fared fairly well at the box office.
The Deol Trio again teamed up for Yamla Pagla Deewana, a comedy flick that even turned out to be a hit.
