Chitrangada Singh is an Indian film actress. She is best known for starring in Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi (2005) and for her first mainstream commercial film, Desi Boyz (2011).
Born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan to an Army officer, Singh began her career in Delhi as a model before making the transition to the silver screen. After completing her education, she entered modeling. It was in a music video that she was spotted by director Sudhir Mishra’s production manager. Subsequently, she made her debut with Sudhir Mishra's film Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (2003).
In 2008, Singh returned to mainstream cinema with the leading role opposite Sanjay Suri in the director Onir's romantic-comedy, Sorry Bhai! Its release over the weekend of the Mumbai terror attacks proved disastrous at the box office. Soon after, she starred in movies Yeh Saali Zindagi (2011), Desi Boyz (2012), Joker (2012), and Inkaar (2013).
Singh's latest movie is I, Me Aur Main, in which she shares space with John Abraham and Prachi Desai. It happens to be director Kapil Sharma's first film, and released on March 1, 2013.
