Dinsha J Patel was educated till the Matriculate level. He was elected to 11th Lok Sabha in 1996 and has been a member of the Committee on Railways. He was re-elected to 12th Lok Sabha in 1998 and was a member, of the Committee on Railways. He was re-elected to 13th Lok Sabha in 1999and then re-elected to 14th Lok Sabha in 2004. He is member of Committee on Private Members’ Bill and Resolutions as well as the Committee on External Affairs. He is the current Union Minister of State, Petroleum and Natural Gas since February 7, 2006
