After the release of 'Shanghai', Emraan Hashmi has shut every critic up with a stellar performance in the movie. in.com takes a look at why you can't kiss this actor goodbye, and especially now since big ticket producers like Karan Johar have snapped him up for their upcoming projects...
Starry lineage: Even though he wouldn't like to admit it, Emraan's starry pedigree has worked in his favour. He has two cousins in Bollywood - Pooja Bhatt & Mohit Suri and his uncles are Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. The Bhatts gave him his first big break with 'Murder' and he's never looked back since. He kisses like no one else: You can bet good money that Emraan will plant a smooch on his leading lady in every film. Even though he steers clear in 'Shanghai', the tag of 'serial kisser' is a hard one to shake off for the actor who's been seen kissing every one from Mallika to Vidya to Jacqueline.
He gets great songs: Emraan has always been lucky to be associated by chartbusting numbers like 'Tu Hi Meri Shabh Hai' from 'Gangster', 'Kaho Na Kaho' from 'Murder' and 'Zara Sa' from 'Jannat.
Lower price tag: If you were lucky to snap up Emraan before 'The Dirty Picture', he'd have come at a cheap price in comparison to other bigger, but less bankable stars. And even though he's rumouredly hiked his fees to Rs 10 crore per film, he's still cheaper than a Khan (who charge 27-29 crores) or a Hrithik (who charges Rs 20 crore)
