Cannes certainly gave us a lot of looks to rave and rage about. Let's start with our very own fashionista Sonam Kapoor. We think Sonam was aiming for dark and seductive but all we're feeling is Queen of the Undead. The Victorian collar on this Alexander McQueen gown adds on several years and we were sorely disappointed seeing how well she did at Cannes last year! Photo: Getty Images
Diane Kruger took to the red carpet in a Dior gown of a print that resembles our favourite kitchen cheesecloth and a skirt so voluminous that it could shelter a village during a storm. Even a face like that couldn't save this look. Photo: Getty Images
Australian model Megan Gale opted for a romantic tiered pink gown that looked marvelous against her sun kissed skin. Photo: Getty Images
Niharika Singh was a vision in white at a photocall for the movie 'Miss Lovely'. She's wearing a Swapnil Shinde gown. Photo: AP
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan chose Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla (a favourite of late) for the AMFAR gala. While we certainly approve of her choice of a corset blouse to hide the love handles, her collar cut off her neck. Photo: AP
Going by her sartorial choices this year, Mallika Sherawat seems to be paying penance for her chest baring acts at previous editions of the Cannes festival. This Ali Mahdavi gown is just a little to space age for us to like, despite the fact that Sherawat has never been in better shape and her makeup is great. The hood however suggests that she's ready to be beamed up. Photo: Getty Images
Rocking an LBD, even while she has a bun in her oven was Reese Witherspoon. We're not crazy about the pumps but she's got a glow that must certainly come from being pregnant Photo: Getty Images
Nicole was all peaches and cream in this rose-coloured Lanvin gown. Two thumbs up! Photo: AP
While her first appearance made us believe that she looked young, this outfit tells us the truth. Nicole Kidman looks old now. And, what's with the hair? Photo: AP
We're on the fence about this pale green Versace gown for Ms Pinto. The only relief is that Freida isn't doing a 'Mallika' here (read: plunging neckline) ! Photo: AP
Singer Cheryl Cole added some colour to a dull day at Cannes with a a dramatic white dress by Stephane Rolland Haute Couture. While the train of the dress was covered in bold red feathers, it looked like Cheryl was walking with the red carpet tugged behind. Over the top, therefore not cool. Photo: AP
Actress Berenice Marlohe looked more Goth than elegant in this black gown. Her only saving grace was her necklace. Photo: AP
Salma Hayek wore a gorgeous black and silver sequined Gucci gown that seemed painfully small up top. Don't like squoob look! the s Photo: Getty Images
Gemma Arterton donned a lovely fully-beaded silver Gucci gown with organza straps. The gold earrings were a mismatch though! Photo: Getty Images
Naomi Watts looked radiant in a beautiful nude feather-embroidered Marchesa gown. we like! Photo: AP
She makes it up for the previous green gown blunder with this white Paco Robanne dress. Pinto looks classy and we all agree! Photo: AP
Keeping it simple yet elegant was Diane Kruger. Her mint coloured full layered dress enhanced her svelvte figure further more. Photo: Getty images
We were expecting a bit more from this voluptuous singer. Lana Del Ray appeared in a black corset gown which hardly turned any heads. Photo: Getty images
Freida did us proud by walking the red carpet at Cannes in a pink Michael Angel gown. She dared to flaunt a daring slit up to the thigh. Wonder, if Jolie's Oscar wardrobe inspired her! Photo: Getty images
She besotted us with a pale pink mermaid gown that tailed as a long feathered train. The 'Desperate Housewives' star gets full marks for pairing the gown with a matching clutch. Photo: Getty images
'The Help' star Jessica Chaistain looked regal in this Alexander McQueen gown. We like! Photo: Getty images
No offence, but actress Fan Bingbing looks like a delicate China plate. And, we are no fan of this! Photo: Getty images
Ladies, please take lessons from Jane on how to look half of your age after seeing her in this shimmery gown. But, the bling was a bit unnecessary, we feel! Photo: Getty images
Did someone play a prank on Russian actress Elena Lenina by telling her Cannes was a circus? The tacky hair and garish clothes will make the fashion police cringe for sure. Photo: Getty images
We all know that everything about this outfit is wrong, only Karine doesn't. Photo: Getty images
And here comes the witch from Narnia, everybody hide! Will Tilda freeze us into a ball of snow if we tell her that she scared the lenses with this golden gown? Photo: Getty images
Marie's million dollar smile goes well with this black halter neck gown. Photo: Getty images
'The Artist' star Bernice Bejo stood out in this blood red gown. A breath of fresh air we say! Photo: Getty images
Eva Herzigova's translucent dress is revealing a tad too much. But, nobody's complaining! Photo: Getty images
Aishwarya Rai was seen on the red carpet at Cannes and this is a BIG improvement over her first appearance. Photo: Getty Images
The wonderful thing about Sonam Kapoor is that she always bounces back. Her look here is sweet, or as the French would say tres charmant. Her Dolce frock, headband and Heidi braid make for a fun look. Photo: Getty Images
