Haseeb A. Drabu has been the Chairman and Chief Executive of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd, since June 9, 2005. Dr. Drabu has been Economic Advisor (Minister of State Status) with Government of Jammu and Kashmir since January 2003 and has formulated its first ever zero deficit budget and conceptualized wide ranging tax reforms, methods of expenditure compression and an innovative scheme to reduce the debt stock of the State Government. Dr. Drabu was a National Editor of Business Standard, where he set up a research bureau in the Newspaper and did a first ever credit rating cum Investment attractiveness of Indian States.
