Hema Malini is an Indian actor, director and producer. She is equally well known as a Bharatanatyam dancerand teacher. Making her acting debut in the 1968 film Sapno Ka Saudagar, she went on to appear in numerous Bollywood films, delivering several box office hits in the process. She was initially promoted as "Dream Girl", and in 1977, she starred in a film of the same name. During this period, she established herself as one of Hindi cinema's leading actresses, getting noted not just for her splendid acting, but also for her beauty, and her accomplished classical dancing. In 1980, Hema got married to an already married Dharmendra, with whom she had two children - Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. Hema and Dharmendra have been involved in politics as members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She was elected to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament
