ICICI Bank (BSE: ICICI) (formerly Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India) is India's largest private sector bank by market capitalization and second largest overall in terms of assets. Bank has total assets of about USD 77 billion (at the end of December 2008), a network of over 1,400 branches, 22 regional offices and 49 regional processing centres, about 4,644 ATMs (at the end of December 2008), and 24 million customers (at the end of July 2007). Overseas, the Bank is targeting the NRI (Non-Resident Indian) population in particular. ICICI reported a 1.15% rise in net profit to Rs. 1,014.21 crore on a 1.29% increase in total income to Rs. 9,712.31 crore in Q2 September 2008 over Q2 September 2007.
