Jayant Patil (born 1963) is an Indian politician from the state of Maharashtra. He is the current Home Minister in the cabinet in the state of Maharashtra in Western India. He has a B.E. in Civil Engineering from VJTI, Mumbai. He is the son of Late Rajarambapu Patil, a respected politician from Maharashtra. He is a politician who understands the importance of development for a country like India. His progressive outlook has been instrumental in the all round growth of his constituency (Walva, Sangli Dist of Maharashtra).He was the finance minister of the state for 9 years and presented the annual state budget a record 9 times. He was made home minister after the previous home minister resigned. He was the apt man for the job as he was experienced.
