Jayati Ghosh (b. 1955-) was educated at Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and the University of Cambridge. Her 1984 doctoral thesis at Cambridge University was titled \"Non capitalist land rent: theories and the case of North India\" under the supervision of Mr T Byres. She is now Professor of Economics and also the current Chairperson at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, School of Social Sciences, at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, in New Delhi, India. Her specialities include globalization, international finance, employment patterns in developing countries, macroeconomic policy, and issues related to gender and development.
