Kanti Singh,Bihar of RJD political party, a member ok Lok Sabha, representing Arrah constituency. Kanti entered politics in the mid 1980s and was member of the Janata Dal.She holds the twin portfolios of Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism and Minister of State in the Ministry of Culture. She entered electoral politics in 1995 and was a member of Bihar Legislative Assembly from 1995-96. She was elected to 11th Lok Sabha in 1996 and made the Union minister of state, Human Resource Development, in June 1996. Then she was made the Union minister of state (independent charge), Coal and held the portfolio from 1996-97. She was re-elected the Lok Sabha in 1999 for her second term and then again won in 2004. She was the Union minister of state, Ministry of Human Resource Development, from May 23, 2004 to January 28, 2006. She also held the portfolio of Union minister of state in the Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises for some time.
