The Kindle Fire is a tablet computer version of Amazon.coms Kindle e-book reader. Announced on 28 September 2011, the Kindle Fire will have a color 7" multi-touch display with IPS technology and run on a forked version of Googles Android operating system. It includes access to Amazons app store, streaming movies and TV shows in addition to Kindles e-books. It is scheduled to be released in mid November. The device will sell for US$199.
