Kongunadu Munnetra Peravai (KMP) (Tamil: கொங்குநாடு முன்னேற்ற பேரவை) is a political party, launched by Kongu Vellala Gounder Peravai, a Kongu Vellalar welfare organisation, at a conference held in Coimbatore on 15 February 2009. \Best\ S.Ramasamy was announched as President, with E.R.Easwaran as the General Secretary. In this political party inaugaral function, around 6.27 lakh kongu people gathered, which is the biggest political party gathering in India,so far. The party aims to improve the overall development of the Kongu region, which it claims is being ignored by the major political parties in the state.
