Mahesh Shrinivas Bhupathi is a professional tennis player. He is married to Shvetha Jaishankar Bhupathi, an Indian model whom he met at a party. He turned professional in 1995, and in 2001, he was awarded the Padma Shri. He is among the best doubles tennis players in the world with 11 grand slam titles to his credit including mixed doubles. In 1997, he became the first Indian to win a Grand Slam tournament (with Rika Hiraki in Mixed Doubles). Bhupati is an alumnus of University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) at Oxford, MS, U.S.A.
