Mandira Bedi is a Mumbai-born Punjabi actress-cum-anchor. She did her schooling at the city's elite Cathedral & John Connon High School. While working for high-profile ad agency Ogilvy & Mather in Mumbai, she was offered a role in the TV soap Shanti in 1994. The show was a hit and Mandira bagged a role in Yash Raj Films' Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995). The film was a blockbuster.Mandira did a few films after that but it was her TV show on cricket, Extraa Innings, that got her the eyeballs she needed post Shanti.Mandira is married to Bollywood film director Raj Kaushal since 1999.
