Dr M.S. Gill, a politician from the Indian National Congress party, is a Member of the Parliament of India representing Punjab in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. He is also a former Chief Election Commissioner of India. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan. On 06 Apr 2008, he was appointed as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports), replacing Mani Shankar Aiyar.
