Neil Nitin Mukesh is the son of noted singer Nitin Mukesh and grandson of singer Mukesh. His name was suggested by Lata Mangeshkar as she was very inspired by Neil Armstrong. As a child he made brief appearances in Vijay (1988) and Jaise Karni Waise Bharni (1989). His big Bollywood debut came in 2007 with Sriram Raghvan's Johnny Gaddar. The film might not have done well at the box office, but Neil's performance in a negative role was extremely appreciated. The actor also won nominations for Best Newcomer for his role at Filmfare Awards and was nominated as the Most Promising Newcomer at Screen and Stardust Awards.
