Call it a craze among people or a unique numerological combination, the fancy date — December 12, 2012 (12-12-12) — is set to be a big occasion for expecting moms, to-be couples and those venturing into new businesses.
The unique sequence seems to have caught the fancy of people,
as they are not going to witness any such combinations from next year, 2013.
Be it prominent caterers, bands, decorators, lawns, banquet halls, guest houses, beauty parlours or gynaecologists - all have a packed schedule for the fancy date.
"We started getting orders almost before a year for the date. There is a fad among people for special things, especially when it comes to weddings. We are literally flooded with orders for the day," said a prominent decorator of the city.
Event managers have also decided themes for the weddings of the day. "When my wedding date was being decided for December, we thought of choosing a fancy date, which got a unanimous nod from both families," said Sumita, who is tying the knot on 12.12.12.
Apart from its rare sequence, 12.12.12 is also as an auspicious day, say astrologers. "The power of Jupiter makes it a good day for those getting married and those born on the day. The date indicates positive harmony among relationships built on the day.
It also indicates blooming of healthy relationships for those tying the knots," says astro expert Avijeet Chatterjee.
According to Chatterjee's predictions, the day indicates zeal, energy and positivity for couples. And kids born on this day would be sharp and bright, he adds.
Putting it in numbers, numerologist Aaadietya Pandey says, "December 12, 2012 will be a date with an extremely unique and lucky combination of number 12 in numerology. It is highly auspicious for starting new ventures or entering into partnerships. Businesses, especially related to education and hospitalities, will be favourable if commenced on this date."
But he has a word of caution for parents naming their newborns on the date.
He says, "As number 12 is governed by number 3 it, of course, indicates that the kids born on this date will have diversified interests. But the presence of number 1 and 2 will make them suffer lack of concentration as well as mood swings. To control these negative qualities and to ensure that the kids born on this unique date reach great heights of success in their life, we need to take special care while naming them. Initials C, L, U, E, N, W, G, P and Y should be avoided for assigning names to the kids born on this auspicious date."
