Samajwadi Party corporator Ashraf Azmi posted multiple inflammatory status messages on Facebook over the past two days, mocking MNS chief Raj Thackeray for using foul language against SP leader Abu Asim Azmi.
Comments egged him on to file a case against Thackeray, an idea in which Ashraf showed keen interest. “I am all for it; please guide me. I want to show this b****** his true place,” he said.
Here’s what else he had to say:
#“Aaj ki rally Azad maidan ki kiske khilaaf hai, Maharashtra sarkar kay khilaaf ya Mumbai police ke khilaaf, jisne goli nahin chalaayee us din aur masoom logon ko maara nahin.......Aaj 21st Aug 2012 ki Azad maidan ki rally ke organisers kya awaam ko yeh baat batatne ka kasht karenge....”
(Against whom is today’s rally in Azad Maidan? Is it against the government or the Mumbai police who did not kill innocents on August 11? Will the organisers of the Aug 21 rally try to explain this to the public? )
#“Raj Thackeray, agar tune mere qaid Abu Asim Azmi ko ek alfaaz bola toh yaad rakh ....Is sheher ka aman kharaab huaa toh uska zimmedaar tu hogaa..”
(Raj Thackeray, if you dare to utter a word against my mentor Abu Azmi, then you will be responsible for disrupting the peace of this city.)
#“Raj Thackeray ka putla jalaane ka karyakram aaj Kurla depot par thaa, magar uske pehle hi police ne humaare district president Arshad Azmi ko aur tammam karyakartaon ko hirasat mein le liyaa.. Hum kanoon ki aur kanoon ke rakhwalon ki izzat karte hain, magar police ko bhi is baat ka khyaal rakhna chahiye ki humaare karyakartaon ke feelings ka khyaal kiya jaye...nahin toh yeh batane mein zyaada waqt nahin lagegaa ki asli sher kaun hai aur geedad kaun...”
(We were prevented from burning an effigy of Raj Thackeray at Kurla depot today as police arrested our district president Arshad Azmi and other party workers. We respect the law and law-keepers. But the police must respect the sentiments of our party workers. Otherwise, it won’t take long for us to show who’s the lion and who’s the jackal.)
