The home where Hollywood star Charlize Theron's mother killed the actress's father in self-defence in 1991 is at the centre of a new murder investigation.
A horrific murder was carried out last weekend at the property, which is the same house where Theron's mother Gerda Maritz killed the Oscar winning actress's father Charles in Benoni, near Johannesburg, South Africa, reported Radar online.
Owner Barry Newland was tortured to death at the house by a gang of five burglars, who pretended they were interested in buying a car at his home-based car sales business. Police spokesperson Lieutenant Nomsa Sekel said that Newland suffocated after being bound and gagged with a plastic bag, and his body was also covered in cigarette burns and wounds from a hot clothes iron.
The raiders stole a number of items during the attack, including a mobile phone, laptop, two cameras, iPod and a gold chain.
