Two women alleged that they were raped by two men who promised they would marry them but later backed out, police said on Tuesday. Both the accused have been arrested. "Munna, a property dealer, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman at Ambedkar Nagar in south Delhi," police said.
The accused is a local Congress worker. The woman stays with her family in south Delhi's Madangiri. In the complaint, she told police that Munna had met her three years ago and started a physical relationship promising to marry her. She approached police after Munna refused to marry her and stopped meeting her.
In another incident, a 23-year-old final year student of Delhi University alleged that her male friend raped her for several months. The accused Rahul, 25, was arrested from Shakarpur in east Delhi Monday after the student approached police. The victim told police Rahul said he would marry her and started having a physical relationship with her. She approached police after Rahul refused to marry.
