British Prime Minister David Cameron arrived on Wednesday morning to pay a visit to the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh.

Cameron was received by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and other dignitaries.

After paying visit to the Harmandir Sahab, popularly known as Golden Temple, the British Prime Minister is also scheduled to visit the historic Jallianwala Bagh, which is located close to the Temple.

Hundreds of people were massacred at Jallianwala Bagh in 1919 on the orders of General Dyer during the British Raj.

Around 3,000 police personnel from six districts have been deployed along with other forces, as part of tight security arrangements for the British Prime Minister's visit.
