Three football players belonging to East Bengal and Prayag United and their cook have been accused of raping a 14-year-old at their apartment in Kolkata.

The accused footballers are Baldeep Singh, Joseph Singh and their cook Ravi Singh. The incident took place at the apartment of another footballer Jagpreet Singh, with whom Baldeep and Joseph stayed.

Jagpreet Singh, a mid-fielder of East Bengal team and his cook Ravi Singh have been arrested so far. Two others are still absconding. An FIR was lodged by the girl's father late on Tuesday night.

The additional chief judicial magistrate has sent the two arrested to 14 days of judicial custody. However, East Bengal has faxed a letter to ACJM saying that when the incident happened, Jagpreet Singh was playing with the team against Pune FC at Salt Lake Stadium.
