Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has not been seen on the silver screen since her 2010 film Guzaarish, says that she will make a comeback soon.
The 39-year-old, who took a break when she was expecting daughter Aaradhya, said at an event in Vadodara, “I am listening to scripts and when I zero in on the right one, I will be back,” adding that she was only on maternity leave and did not quit the industry.
“I became a mother and wasn't it natural that I would take a break from work?" she said. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan added that she is busy looking after her one-year-old daughter.
“I don’t quite understand the obsession about her (Aaradhya) and it's amusing when people ask me what we want her to become once she grows up,” she said, adding that it irks her when media gets personal.
Dressed in a Falguni and Shane green Anarkali, the actor, who is also the UNAIDS International Goodwill Ambassador, also said that she would tour various parts of India to educate women and convince them to to shed inhibitions about HIV/AIDS test so as to prevent their children from being infected by the virus. "Though there is no medicine for curing this disease, its medical treatment is possible," Aishwarya Rai Bachchan said, adding, “I’ll help break social barriers and stigmas that are attached with the disease.”
