Parvathy the woman representing India at the Miss World pageant for 2008. Parvathy lost the Miss World title to Miss Russia and is the first runner-up at the contest. Miss World 2008 is the 58th Miss World Final.

Parvathy, 24, is 5 feet 9 inches tall and hails from India's God's own country, Kerala.

She had won the crown of Femina Miss India which was held in April 2008. This English graduate from Kerala also won Miss Personality and Miss Beautiful Hair at the Femina Miss India contest.

Two days before the final round, Parvathy appeared sure of her victory and said she was confident of carrying forward the legacy of India’s glamour queens Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan (1994), Priyanka Chopra (2000), Diana Hayden (1997) and Yukta Mookhey (1999).

Born on July 13, this Cancerian charmer's "never say die" attitude has helped her conquer one beauty pageant after another- be it the Navy Queen contest held in connection with the annual Navy Ball or Femina Miss India, South held in Hyderabad.
