How did this week's releases (Chakravyuh, Ajab Gazabb Love, Rush) perform at the box office? We take a look...
BO performance of Chakravyuh

A still from Chakravyuh
Verdict: Average grosser
All India collections: Rs 13 crore (opening weekend)
Production houses continue to commit sins of the past as multiple releases over the weekend have resulted in disastrous collections for all. Faring best was 'Chakravyuh' which released two days earlier on the Dussehra holiday. However lukewarm reviews (read ours here) and competition from 'Student Of The Year' that continued to draw in audiences, led to the movie managing only 13 crores on the opening weekend. In comparison, Prakash Jha's last (Aarakshan), that was universally panned collected Rs 20 crore in the opening weekend. It's unlikely that the numbers will pick up in the week considering that the new Bond movie 'Skyfall' will release a day earlier on Thursday.
BO performance of Ajab Gazabb Love

A still from Ajab Gazabb Love
Verdict: Flop
All India collections: Rs 4.75 crore (opening weekend)
'Ajab Gazabb Love', the light and frothy entertainer starring Jackky Bhagnani and Nidhi Subbaiah, performed way below expectations. The movie did not receive rave reviews but wasn't entirely panned either, but couldn't manage to make a mark. Collections could improve over the next few days but AGL faces competition from 'Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana' that releases this Friday, which is yet another light entertainer.
BO performance of Rush

Emraan Hashmi's lucky run at the box office seems to have ended
Verdict: Flop
All India collections: Rs 2.16 crore (opening weekend)
Emraan Hashmi's lucky run at the box office came to a grinding halt with 'Rush'. The movie drew in the poorest collections this weekend and received poor reviews. It's unlikely to pick up during the week and Emraan must desperately be hoping to leave the memory of this one, well behind him.
BO performance of past releases

Student of the Year has passed with full marks!
'Student Of The Year' continued to perform well, and raked in 10 crore more, making it's total tally at the box office Rs 57.62 crore. For a film that stars three debutantes, 'SOTY' is breaking all sorts of records and isn't going away in a hurry.
Also, 'OMG - Oh My God' edges closer to the Rs 100 crore mark in the domestic market with approximately Rs 79 crore in its kitty.
