While some of the stars celebrated the festival out of the country, others spent the day in the bylanes of Old Delhi and their hometown.
Shah Rukh Khan: Ladakh SRK, who is shooting for Yashraj’s untitled film in Ladakh, had to celebrate without family. He tweeted, “All alone on Eid ... on a thin winding road. Just gave myself a hug after a long time. Will celebrate with happy winds. Look forward to reading the Takbirat in an open space in Ladakh.”
Imran Khan: Old Delhi
Imran Khan decided on saddi Dilli this year. The 29-year old actor spent the festival gorging on paranthas in Old Delhi. “We had a great time there when we were shooting for Delhi Belly (2011). It was a feast for us everyday in Paranthe Wali Gali. That’s why I decided to spend this Eid savouring delicious gobhi ke paranthe, my favourite!,” he says.
Salman Khan: Mumbai
Sallu, who missed the festival last year as he was undergoing treatment for his nerve disorder in US at the time, did not celebrate Eid this year as well. Reason: the demise of his close friend Riteish Deshmukh’s father, Vilasrao Deshmukh. “My good friend Riteish Deshmukh lost his dad ... I’ll therefore not celebrate,” the 46-year-old was quoted as saying.
Aamir Khan: Chicago
Actor Aamir Khan, who after the successful closure of Satyamev Jayate is currently shooting for Yashraj’s film Dhoom 3 in Chicago, celebrated the day with filmmaker wife Kiran Rao and son Azad Rao Khan in the American city. This was a special Eid for the 47-year-old actor-filmmaker, as it was his eight-month-old baby’s first.
Saif Ali Khan: London
After celebrating his birthday in a small private ceremony with ladylove Kareena Kapoor in London last week, Saif, 42, who is still holidaying there, celebrated the festival with Bebo in the British capital. The couple is expected to return to India today.
