As fans count days to the big night when Enrique Iglesias will perform in the city this month, the Spanish singing sensation says he has lots in store. “I am very excited to come to India. Fans can definitely expect a lot of surprises and some great new production,” says Enrique, who last performed in India in 2004, but is performing in Delhi for the first time.
Promising a good mix of hits, old and new, the 37-year-old — known for chart-topping hits such as Hero, Bailamos, Love To See You Cry, I Like It and Tonight (I’m Loving You) — says he’s been looking forward to this trip for years. “I’ve been trying to come back for a while, and just waiting for the right opportunity. Besides the show, I’m looking forward to the fans, who are so amazing and enthusiastic, as well as the great food,” says Enrique, who as part of his multi-city tour, will perform in Gurgaon’s HUDA Grounds on Oct 19, followed by gigs in Pune and Bengaluru.
Enrique, who has in the past collaborated with Indian singer Sunidhi Chauhan for the song, Heartbeat, is up for more such opportunities. “I love collaborating with different artists and think it would be a great experience. I’ve heard many Bollywood songs, and seen many videos, and am a fan for sure.” Currently busy with recording, the singer hopes to be out with his new album next year, “hopefully Spring”.
We’ll make you meet him
Two lucky HT City readers from Delhi-NCR will get a chance to meet and greet Enrique while he is in the city, and see him perform live. Watch out this space and log on to facebook.com/htcity for more.
