Anu Menon's directorial debut is as fresh as a morning daisy.

Love served up Bollywood style hasn't seemed as sweet in a while and after 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu', comes this charming movie that's bound to leave you with a smile on your face and a skip in your step as you leave the hall. Sure, maybe yours and our love stories don't span across London, Paris and New York, but there's enough of heart in this flick to make it work for folks in Lucknow, Patna, New Delhi or anywhere else for that matter.

What's it about?
Nikhil Chopra (Ali Zafar) and Lalitha Krishnan (Aditi Rao Hydari) meet at Heathrow airport in 2005 and spend the day together after Lalitha misses her connecting flight. Sparks fly instantly and Lalitha moves on to New York with Nikhil promising to visit her there soon. Two years later, the couple meet again but this time in Paris, where Nikhil thinks at first that Aditi's aloof behaviour is because of his no show in New York, but things seem to pick up right from where they left them in London. Giving away anything more about what follows would be doing you a disservice. After all, if it wasn't apparent from the start, we want you to watch this movie.

Apart from Zafar and Hydari, there are only other two other supporting characters with roles so tiny that they hardly matter. In this situation, you expect fireworks from the leads and boy, do they deliver. Zafar, who's the flavour of the month given his yummy looks, is extremely likeable and while his affected accent does grate on your nerves for a bit, there's no doubt that he can act. He's especially brilliant in a teary outburst in the second half. Hydari matches him step for step, as the bubbly idealist who later turns into a wild child. Cinematography is top notch and the dialogue never feels too plastic, though some jokes and one song shot in a church seem to be a bit of a stretch.

What to do?
These minor quibbles apart, Anu Menon's directorial debut is as fresh as a morning daisy. Don't miss this one.
