Movie: Chhota Bheem And The Throne Of Bali
Language: Hindi
Directed by: Rajiv Chilaka

'Chhota Bheem And The Throne Of Bali' is a nice summer watch for kids, with enough adventure, mythical creatures and a climax with a moral-of-the-story.

What's it about?
The story begins with Princess Indumati of Dholakpur, who loves listening to enchanting tales about her aunt's kingdom in Bali from her father Raja Indravarma. Soon enough, the king decides to take a trip to Bali to meet his sister and her family, that includes her son Arjun. Accompanying the king are Chhota Bheem and his gang, that include Chutki, Raju, Jaggu, Kalia, Dholu and Bholu. Upon their arrival, they realise that a dangerous witch, Rangda, has taken over the entire kingdom. With the King and Queen of Bali missing, their son Arjun along with sage Rajguru join hands with Chhota Bheem and his team to fight back. While defeating humans comes easy to Bheem, his task gets tricky when demons and spirits get involved. In need of some extra help, the troupe travels to Agom parbat to seek the advice of Barong and obtain Caris, a powerful weapon that can destroy Rangda. However, their detour is not without some startling revelations.

A simple story with simple animation, Chhota Bheem will keep you entertained. The songs are cute and plentiful, popping up in almost every other situation. The entertaining face-offs (that are also a regular feature of the TV episodes) between various characters is fun too. Also amusing is when Chutki and Raju break into a 'jumping japak jumpak jumpak' dance after Bheem scores a hundred!

Having said that, there isn't much more the makers can boast about in the film other than the regular ladoo love and heroic antics of its lead character, thus making it appealing only to children.

What to do?
'Chhota Bheem And The Throne Of Bali' is a great watch for your kids but adults craving an animated fix are better off catching 'The Croods'.
