Penelope Cruz, who plays a hooker in this Friday's release 'To Rome With Love', puts the bomb in bombshell! In an interview with the actress, we found out that she loves Indian staples like rice and would love to work with Shah Rukh Khan (wouldn't we all?). Here are excerpts from the interview...
Tell us about the movie and your role?
'To Rome With Love' is a comedy that follows the lives of various individuals, some of whom are American and some Italian, some residents and some visitors, all around the enchanted ancient city. My role in the movie is that of a hooker, who makes prostitution seem like a desirable career. She is very professional, she looks at this job with dignity, and she wants to be the best at it. She is convinced she is helping people, and is really necessary for society.
How was it working with Woody Allen?
I have been a fan of his work since when I was a little girl. I was very happy first of all to meet him, to be able to spend time with him. He makes me laugh all day long, so I feel like the luckiest girl.
How aware are you of Bollywood?
I love India, it is very special country and I have been there several times. I am a great fan of Indian cinema and I would love to work with Shah Rukh Khan. I have the rights to a book and we are going to shoot the movie in India.
Also, are you fond of Indian food? Do you cook?
Yes, I can’t resist good food. I love rice and bread and yogurt and these are also an integral part of Indian diet.
You've just shot an ad with your younger sister and she looks very much like you. Do you see her as a competitor?
I and my sister have been working together for years now and it is always a great experience for me working with my sister. She is a very hard working actor and worker. Yeah she does look like me and I look like her and it is nothing very new or surprising for any of us to react to it. She definitely is not my competitor we help each other at work a lot. For an instance she played my body double in the movie 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides', when I was visibly pregnant.
