Actress Riya Vij, who makes her acting debut with upcoming movie "Gippi", says she got the role by fluke.
The 14-year-old plays the title role of Gurpreet Kaur aka Gippi, who is learning new thing while growing up and adapting to changes.
But it was Riya's friend who actually wanted to do the movie.
"Actually, it was my friend who wanted to do the role badly. I just tagged along," Riya said in a statement.
She added that her friendship went through a rough patch after her friend lost out the role, but "eventually we worked it out."
Directed by Sonam Nair, "Gippi" is produced by Dharma Productions.
