iHe may be the biggest brand in Bollywood, but Salman Khan's infamous past is fast catching up with him. With new charges in the 2002 hit-and-run case and summons in the 15-year-old blackbuck poaching case, what lies in store for him?

Salman is the poster boy of Bollywood's 100 crore club and his films over the last two years are a proof of that. Be it the Box Office or the small screen, Salman Khan is certainly having a dream run professionally, and his only competition seems to be him.

But apart from his rising popularity and Box Office success, it seems that a concerted effort has been made to clean up his bad boy image with his Being Human Foundation and social work aligned to it. But with his 2002 'hit-and-run case' taking a new turn, Salman's past is back in the focus.

Till now the actor was being tried under section 304A (rash and negligent act), which entails a punishment of maximum two years. But following a hearing on March 11, there is a possibility of the actor being tried under Section 304 part two (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), which attracts a maximum punishment of 10 years.

Senior lawyer Majeed Memon said, "The main witness, his bodyguard, is no more, and now with the court moving to a new charge will require his side of the story, so there is really nothing to worry about for Salman."

The star's 1998 blackbuck poaching case, too, is back in focus, as Salman will have to present himself in a court in Jodhpur next month. "Generally when a case is pending for such a long time, then the court is aghast and if the accused is found responsible for delays then there is a problem. But generally after so much time has passed, the witnesses forget, officers retire or are transferred so the case gets weak," Memon said.

The sheen on brand Salman Khan after his roaring Box Office success and his Being Human foundation could take a beating if trouble mounts for the actor on the legal front with these two cases coming right back into the media glare.
