In several interviews, Sonam Kapoor has admitted that she would be hesitant in wearing a bikini on-screen. At an event in the Capital last year, the actor had said, “When everybody says, ‘why don’t you wear a bikini?’ I’m like, ‘you know because I’ve lost a lot of weight and I have loose skin hanging, so unless I do surgery I can’t wear a bikini’.”

However, the 27-year-old is now getting ready to slip into a two piece for her next film — Yash Raj’s untitled project with Ayushmann Khurrana. The film is being helmed by director Nupur Asthana and currently being shot in Delhi.

To look perfect in her never-seen-before avataar, the actor has been working hard on her body.  She is reportedly gymming and learning hot yoga under Mark and Christianne Mead, who are based in Los Angeles, but flew down to Mumbai to train Sonam.

In an interview, the actor confirmed that she is learning hot yoga for a bikini body.  While Sonam remained unavailable for comment, Khurrana confirmed: I have also got into shape for this scene with Sonam. We were also gymming together the other day. This is my first shirtless appearance.”

The Kapoor girl has joined the likes of Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Sunny Leone, who wore bikinis on-screen.

Apart from Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Anushka has worn a bikini in Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl (2011) and Badmaash Company (2010). Deepika and Bipasha were seen in red bikinis in Cocktail and Players respectively. Bipasha turned a bikini girl for Yash Raj Films way back in 2006 in Dhoom 2.

They rocked the bikini
Sharmila Tagore in An Evening in Paris (1967)
Dimple Kapadia in Bobby (1973)
Zeenat Aman in Heera Panna (1973), Qurbani (1980)
Parveen Babi in Yeh Nazdeekiyan (1982)
Sarika in Vidhaata, (1982)
