Sushmita Sen is proud of Himangini Singh Yadu, who was crowned Miss Asia Pacific in Busan, Korea, and said that she has got the best gift for everyone.
Himangini won the title June 16 and when she returned Thursday, Sushmita was at the airport to receive her.
"It's a proud moment for India, Himangini Singh has made us all very proud by winning this title because we have been waiting for a win on the international stage for a long time now," the 36-year-old told reporters at the airport.
Indore girl Himangini is a product of Sushmita's organisation "I Am She - Miss Universe India" and is the first Indian girl to win an international beauty pageant in 12 years.
"She has given us the biggest gift. Her life starts now because today once again an Indian beauty has been recognised and given a place on the world map and that is one of the greatest achievements," Sushmita added.
When Himangini was quizzed about her plans to enter Bollywood, she said: "I am committed with the organisation for a year and I'll think about it when I get good projects."
