Andrew was a natural even though he thought he had to work hard to do it but he really was a natural. He could cope with the physical demands of playing Spider-Man

Director Marc Webb says actor Andrew Garfield, who plays the role of Spider-Man in the upcoming film The Amazing Spider-Man, did not have to work hard to play the superhero.

Webb said the 28-year-old though found it difficult to play the role initially but was a natural at it, reported Contactmusic. "Andrew was a natural even though he thought he had to work hard to do it but he really was a natural. He could cope with the physical demands of playing Spider-Man," Webb said.

The 37-year-old filmmaker also feels that the new movie has different layers and stories to tell which have not been told in previous parts. "We haven't seen him get left behind by his parents before but it was an incredibly dramatic and interesting event and that opens up the story. There are all these new layers that we haven't seen before, it was great," Webb added.
