Bangalore,Feb 13 (PTI) Two persons have been arrested on charges of selling a property belonging to a dead man and rs ten lakh seized from them, police said today. Gopalakrishna and Rangaswamy allegedly sold property of late Nagendra, an agent and owner of Gayathri Enterprises, who made an agreement with members of the Vijayanagar Industrial Workers's Housing Cooperative Society that 44.34 acres would be distributed among them and collected Rs 1.80 crore, a city crime branch statement said. The Bangalore development authority confiscated the land since the deceased failed to distribute the land to its members, it said. Nagendra died in 1996 and there were no claimants for the property. The two then hatched a conspiracy and created fake documents in Nagendra's name. Gopalakrishna claimed that he was Nagendra and registered the property, police said. He duped one Girishkumar and sold the property worth Rs 56.50 lakh to him for Rs 20 lakh, taking Rs 10 lakh as advance, police said. Based on the complaint given by the President of the society, a case was registered and probe entrusted to a CCB team which subsequently nabbed the culprits.
