Indian boxer M.C. Mary Kom said Wednesday that the Olympic bronze medal won't be the end of road for her and she would continue with her sport for the next two to four years.

Mary Kom settled for an Olympic bronze after losing her semi-final bout to British Nicola Adams.

"Everyone is scared and asking me questions if I am going to quit. I want to tell them that don't worry, I am not retiring and will continue. How long is a little difficult to answer but may be two to four years," said an elated Mary Kom, who became India's first woman pugilist to win an Olympic medal.

On her lost semi-final bout against Adams, she said, "It just was not my day after all. My coach Charles Atkinson helped me a lot and prayed for my success. I want to thank everyone who supported me and I am sorry that I could not convert the bronze into a silver or gold."

"It has been a tough journey. I carried on with the support of family and friends. Despite the loss today, I am satisfied with the way I performed," added the the 29-year-old Manipuri.

Mary Kom said she was satisfied with her effort at the London Games.

"I want to continue playing the game," she said.

Mary Kom, a five-time World Champion, became the second Indian boxer to win a medal after Vijender Singh at the Olympics.

This is also the first Games where two women from India have won medals in a single edition. Saina Nehwal won the bronze in the badminton women's singles earlier.
