Comeback man Yuvraj Singh feels like a "debutant" as he gears for the 'second innings' of his international career through the T20 format after winning his battle against a rare germ-cell cancer. "It feels as if I am making my debut. I have always believed that T20 is the best format for my comeback," an elated Yuvraj told the mediapersons after he was included in the national squad for the ICC World Twenty20 and the preceding two-match T20 series against New Zealand.
Ecstatic at his selection, the dynamic left-hander said, "It is an emotional day for me. I was very happy after my selection in the preliminary squad, but now I am over the moon." Terming the rigours of T20 tourney as ideal for his body at the moment, he said "I am not yet ready for 50-over or Test cricket. The demands of the longer format are much more rigorous on the body." About the chances of comeback in the longer format, Yuvraj said that he would take a call only after the World T20 gets over. "I will take a call in October when there is a break."
For the man, who fought the biggest battle of his life only few months back, it's more about the "mental aspect rather than physical" which is of paramount importance at the international level. "Physical fitness has never really been a concern. It was the psychological impact that worried me." Talking about the importance of the T20 matches against New Zealand, he felt that those games will serve as an indicator as to how he will be shaping up for the big ticket tournament.
