Owner Shah Rukh Khan along with co-owners Jay Mehta and Juhi Chawla unveiled the new logo of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. The new tagline of the IPL team is ‘New Dawn. New Knights’.
With IPL entering its fifth season, KKR have also hired new coach Trevor Bayliss and have signed the likes of Brendon McCullum (NZ), Sunil Narine(WI) and Marchant de Lange (South Africa).
Khan remained tight lipped about the ongoing Sahara-BCCI fiasco, but added, “Let the cricketing bosses take care of the issues. In any case, Jay and Venky Mysore are the real brains behind the brand of KKR. Juhi and I are the face of the team. However that said, it would be ideal if the franchises would be included in the governing council for the IPL.”
The IPL side, led by Gautam Gambhir will look to end their 4 year long poor showing at the tourney and win this year’s competition. The franchise also faced flak for dropping Sourav Ganguly from the side last year. However SRK and Juhi were upbeat about the new season. Khan said, “IPL 4 was very good for us and hopefully we will manage to do better and try to win this year.”
Last but not the least, when asked about how he would celebrate Valentine’s Day, SRK laughingly remarked, “I am very superstitious about Valentine’s Day.”
