In a startling disclosure, Power Minister Sushil KumarShinde has blamed a grade B officer from National Power Grid (NPG) as being responsible for the power outage that has crippled 14 states across India.
Holding a candle and addressing reporters, the minister revealed that Inder Mohan Malhotra (fondly called 'Tube light' by his friends) forgot to switch on the button at the Upper Yamuna Power Plant which controls the power supply to more than half the country. It turns out that Mr Malhotra has been busy filing his tax returns for the past two days and hence been stressed and "not very professional on the job".
Shinde admitted that under normal circumstances, this 'idiotic' behavior by Malhotra would 'shock' anybody and everybody but because of the 'power cuts' prevailing in the country, the power ministry has asked for a written explanation!
Senior BJP leader Mr Advani, reacting to this news, has asked for the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh saying, "Don't say I did not warn you. India is headed for doom. A powerless leader lays the foundation for a powerless nation."
Meanwhile in a rather strange turn of events, the women's wing of Sri Ram Sene (SRS) has blamed Sunny Leone for this power crisis. In a press release, they have stated that ever since this "beautiful bi*ch" has landed on Indian shores, men everywhere have been surfing the Internet non-stop for her dirty pictures and thus consuming copious amounts of electricity.
