Óscar Julio Ferro Gándara (born March 2 1967 in Montevideo) is a retired Uruguayan football goalkeeper who won five Uruguayan league championships with Peñarol. Ferro started his professional playing career in 1984 with Peñarol where he won four league titles in 10 years with the club. In 1995 he joined Ferro Carril Oeste (this team is curiously named \"Ferro\" for the fans) of the Argentine Primera. In Copa América 1995 he was a non-playing member of the Uruguay team that won the tournament. He also played in Peru with Sporting Cristal, Spain with SD Compostela and Paraguay with Guaraní. He also returned to Argentina to play in the 2nd division with Atlético Tucumán. In 2002 he returned to Peñarol where he was part of the squad that won the 2003 championship.
