Elyse Taylor (born 20 October 1986) is a popular Australian model.
Born on October 20, 1986, Elyse grew up in Vaucluse, Sydney
She has worked for the fashion label Victoria’s Secret
Aussie girls have many models to look up to, and Elyse Taylor joined the ranks when she was scouted at age 14 by Ursula Hufnagl, owner of Chic Models.
Her lifestyle quickly changed after being scouted at a young age. With modeling came a sudden shift of pace and focus, from flying to shoots and working in New York.
Since her career began, Elyse has walked for Marc Jacobs, Alberta Ferretti, Dolce & Gabbana, and Roberto Cavalli, followed in Miranda Kerr’s footsteps by working for David Jones.
She says that her biggest accomplishment was gracing the cover of Vogue Australia in 2009.
Spending the majority of her time so far from home is obviously hard
She credits her mother as her biggest inspiration.
So when it comes down to needing some time off, she heads Down Under. "Apart from my family and friends, I miss the Australian lifestyle. New York is such a workaholic city, it's hard to find the time to relax.
She subsequently walked in fashion shows for Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Tommy Hilfiger, Moschino, and Trussardi.
She appeared on the covers of Australian Vogue and the Polish and Swedish editions of Elle.
In 2008, she was named one of the faces of Este Lauder.
She is probably best known for her work with Australian fashion brand Kensie and her appearance in the 2009 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.
In April 2011, she was named the face of surf brand O'Neill.
As the ambassador of the brand, she was chosen to judge the O'Neill Model Search and she helped to launch a new competition with Next Models to find fashion's next model star.
For Taylor, becoming the face of O'Neill was a natural step. "O'Neill is a great all-around brand," she says. "It's about being young, fun and adventurous. That brand mentality was a natural fit for my personality and my life outlook."
It’s her role as the international face of O’Neill, however, that may best suit this Aussie native.
The brand just extended Elyse’s contract through 2012 and even enlisted her to co-design a line of swimwear featuring nine styles for Spring 2012 called O'Neill by Elyse Taylor.
she has said that working for Victoria's Secret is a like working with family.
Taylor has asserted the atmosphere at Victoria's Secret shoots and shows are more than positive.
Elyse Taylor, 24 is one of the most sought after models in the industry having walked for Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Emanuel Ungaro, Moschino, and Lanvin.
She has also walked for Marc Jacobs, Roberto Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, Alberta Ferretti, and Victoria’s Secret.
Based in New York, Elyse regularly travels to Europe for work, but admits that she loves coming home for shoots.
Elyse Taylor says modelling is "not as easy and glamorous" as people think.
she wishes people would realise that modelling is not as easy as it looks and actually requires a great deal of ''hard work, dedication, emotional balance, and strong will''.
While the gorgeous Victoria's Secret model loves her job, she thinks it takes real skill and dedication and gets annoyed when people deride her occupation as easy.
However Elyse admitted there are many "fun" aspects to her job, including the Victoria's Secret shows where she gets the chance to catch up with her model friends including Adriana Lima.
